The Dressage Rankings are based on percentages scored in international competitions under FEI rules. Grand Prix level results from international CDI3/4/5*/CDI-W events are included in the calculation of the Horse/Breeder rankings.

Bonus points are awarded for special competitions such as the Olympic Games and World Cup.

The scores obtained in a maximum of 8 tests per year will count.

The studbook rankings are calculated by adding the points of the best 6 horses of a studbook. This is the same as for jumping and eventing.

The point allocation from these FEI rules is also used for the calculation of the WBFSH studbook rankings.

Points are awarded in relation to the star rating of the individual event and a set of points allocations has been devised that rewards the horse according to the status of the qualifying event and its finishing position. A horse must complete and achieve the Minimum Eligibility Requirements (MER) in the event in order to receive points. A horse's best six scores over the season count towards its position in the ranking.

The studbook rankings are calculated by adding the points of the best 6 horses of a studbook. This is the same as for dressage and jumping.
